It started with one child.
In 1998, Stacey Hotter-Knight, BCBA/LBA, met a young boy named Tyler. His gentle nature and the change she saw as the right therapy reached him stayed with her for years.
That experience led her to found L.E.A.P.S. and Beyond in 2013, an autism day-treatment practice where children on the spectrum across Washington receive care built around who they are. Today the practice serves families in Tacoma, Oak Harbor, Bremerton, and Spokane, and in homes across the region.
The LEAPS Autism Foundation grows out of that same purpose. For every family who reaches care, there is another held back by cost, distance, or a waitlist. The Foundation exists to close that gap, so more children have the chance Tyler had.
How the Foundation and the practice work together.
L.E.A.P.S. and Beyond is the clinical practice. Its team of behavior analysts and therapists delivers day-treatment, speech therapy, and parent training to children across Washington.
The LEAPS Autism Foundation is the nonprofit that stands beside it. Where a family faces a barrier to care, the Foundation raises and directs support to help them reach it, and funds the programs, scholarships, and community that carry the mission further.
